David R. Cashdan

David R. Cashdan, is a member of the Washington, D.C. employment law firm Cashdan, Kane & Seltzer, PLLC. Mr. Cashdan has been practicing employment law for 40 years. He served in the Office of General Counsel during the first five years of the EEOC. For his work at the EEOC he received the Federal Bar Association's 1969 National Outstanding Younger Government Attorney award. Shortly thereafter, he became a member of the nation's first non-funded public interest law firm, Berlin, Roisman, Kessler & Cashdan, where he was lead or co-counsel in some of the first class actions brought under Title VII. He was President of the Metropolitan Washington Employment Lawyers from 1993-95, has served as Co-Chair for the Steering Committee of the D.C. Bar's Labor and Employment Law Section, and has served as a member of the Alliance For Justice's Judicial Selection Project. Currently Mr. Cashdan is on the Board of Directors for the National Employment Lawyers Association, the Advisory Board for Workplace Fairness, and the Board of Directors for the D.C. Employment Justice Center. Mr. Cashdan is one of the founders and the co-chair of the Chet Levitt Fund for Employment Law. He is a frequent speaker and panelist on employment law matters and has written many articles, including several for the D.C. Bar magazine and NELA's The Advocate.
