Meeting of July 26, 2011 – EEOC to Examine Arrest and Conviction Records as a Hiring Barrier
Robert H. Shriver, III, is the Senior Policy Counsel at the Office of Personnel Management. Rob is a member of OPM’s political team and is responsible for advising OPM Director John Berry on legal and policy matters concerning the federal civil service. Since arriving at OPM in June 2009, Rob has worked on a number of Director Berry’s priority issues, including reforming the hiring process, improving labor-management relations, and advancing equality for LGBT federal employees.
Prior to joining OPM, Rob was an Assistant Counsel for the National Treasury Employees Union. During his 13 years at NTEU, he successfully litigated a broad range of cases concerning federal employee and union rights.
Rob is a native of Nazareth, PA. He graduated cum laude from Virginia Tech in 1993 with a BA in International Studies. He received his law degree with honors in 1997 from George Washington University Law School. Rob lives in Alexandria, VA, with his wife, JoAnn Martinez-Shriver, and two sons, Robby (7) and Mitch (5).
