El Paso Office Hosting Open House
EL PASO - The El Paso Area Office of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) invites the public to attend an open house on July 2 to celebrate the civil rights agency's 50th anniversary.
WHEN: July 2, 2015 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.
WHERE: EEOC El Paso Area Office, 300 E. Main Dr., Ste. 500, El Paso, TX
The public will be able to meet and speak with the staff and celebrate the agency's accomplishments. James C. Harrington of the Paso del Norte Civil Rights Project will speak about the ongoing work of the EEOC and other civil rights organizations and the challenges they face in the 21st century. The theme for the event is "Red, White and You: the EEOC at 50." Refreshments will be provided. Public parking is available in the area, and a valet parking service is available at the building for a fee.
The EEOC was created by the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which was signed on July 2, 1964, and the agency began operation one year later, on July 2, 1965.
