EEOC Announces New Director for Its Cleveland Field Office

CLEVELAND - On Monday, October 6, 2014, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) will conduct a swearingin ceremony for Cheryl Mabry-Thomas as the new director of its Cleveland Field Office.  The Cleveland Field Office is part of the EEOC's Philadelphia District, which covers all of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Delaware and parts of Ohio.

"It is with great pleasure that I induct Cheryl Mabry-Thomas as the new director of the Cleveland Field Office," said Spencer Lewis, director of the EEOC Philadelphia District Office. "Cheryl brings to the position a wealth of EEO experience and a passion for equality."

As the director of the EEOC Cleveland Field Office, Mabry-Thomas will have responsibility for managing the day-to-day operations of the office and supervising the office staff.

Mabry-Thomas began her EEOC career 27 years ago with the Chicago District Office, where she worked as a systemic investigator, mediator, enforcement supervisor and training coordinator for the in-house training program.  She served three years as the acting deputy director of the EEOC's Washington Field Office, and most recently as the acting national outreach coordinator in the agency's Office of Field Programs.

Mabry-Thomas said, "I am very excited to continue my efforts as a public servant as the Director of our Cleveland Field Office, and I look forward to working with the employee and employer communities we serve."
